Elk Park Animal Hospital is family-owned and operated right here in Pagosa Springs, CO.  We treat every customer and their animal like they are a part of our family. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best, and come with a personal touch.  We specialize in traditional medicine as well as complementary and holistic medicine.  This allows us to choose the best method to treat each individual and gives us more options than traditional medicine alone.  Please see our Services page for a more detailed, but not exclusive, list of what we offer.  If you don't see what you are looking for please call.

Shannon studied wildlife with an emphasis in Herpetology at the University of Minnesota and at James Cook University in Townsville, Australia. He has worked as a reptile zookeeper in Nashville TN, a corporate trainer nationwide, and as a full contact jouster at Renaissance Faires across the country. He now lives in Pagosa Springs with his fiance' Estella Cumberford who builds saddles right here in town. Shannon loves working with animals of all kinds and sizes from slithering snakes to cattle to one ton horses in armor.
Ellen is the smiling face that greets you when you first come into the clinic. She grew up here in Pagosa Springs and now lives with her husband on Tuller Farms, a homesteading farm project that raises Silver Fox Heritage Breed rabbits, chickens (whose farm fresh eggs are for sale in town), and American Black belly Sheep. Ellen was raised with horses, cats, and dogs and has carried this enthusiasm for animals and farming into her career.
Shean Star is an avid outdoors enthusiast and lover of music. When not at the clinic assisting the doctor or maintaining the kennels, you can find him (and his loyal companion Albert) out hiking the mountains or playing disk golf (Albert is the caddy). Shean and his wife live here in Pagosa Springs enjoying the San Juan Mountains.
